Encounters: Shadowrun is a fast-paced push-your-luck dice and card game for 1–8 players, with games taking about 30 minutes. Set in the year 2078, it places you in the role of Mr. Johnson, arranging dangerous jobs for shadowrunners in the Sixth World.

Each player begins with one runner and six dice. On your turn, reveal a location card whose effects alter the rules, then reveal the top Event card. Roll your dice and try to make an exact match for the number shown. Success lets you place a die on the card and decide whether to secure your progress or take another risk.

• Stop safely and receive ¥1.
• Press your luck by flipping another card and continuing the run.
• Fail a roll, and the next player begins a new run with a chance to collect the yen you forfeited.

That choice sits at the heart of every run. Safe decisions steadily build your resources, while bold rolls can push your team toward a larger payoff—but a failed match can leave your gains behind for a rival to claim.

Use yen both as victory points and as currency for buying additional runners. Assemble a stronger team, navigate the changing effects of location and environment cards, and gather enough paydata to outpace the other players.

The goal in Encounters: Shadowrun is straightforward: be the first player to acquire ¥30. With magic, Matrix expertise, and conventional firepower represented in its Shadowrun setting, the game delivers a compact contest of dice, cards, risk, and timing.
