About this board game

Ephios is a political strategy game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. In this technologically advanced city, players compete to become its next governor by gaining popularity among the inhabitants.

The city has been politically divided since the High Governor abdicated. To win, you must be the first player to reach 70% popularity on the popularity card, using relationships with local political figures and uniting the alliances that influence public opinion.

At the heart of the game is the crossroads, where four face-up cards represent the figures and inhabitants of Ephios. Figures belong to different alliances, while inhabitants and figures offer opportunities that can shape your rise to power.

• Recruit: Purchase a figure from the crossroads by spending persuasion points.
• Debate: Discard a figure from the crossroads to gain 2 persuasion points.
• Use: Activate a figure’s or inhabitant’s effect, then discard that card.
• Unite: Discard two figures from the same alliance to gain popularity.

After your turn, complete the crossroads so that the political meeting place is ready for the next player. Choosing when to recruit, debate, use an effect, or unite figures is central to building your path toward the popularity threshold.

Ephios offers two modes: Classical and Campaign. A campaign consists of several quick games, with card variations based on how each round ended. As the campaign continues, you learn more about the history of Ephios while encountering new figures and alliances, making every campaign unique.
