Epigo

About this board game

Epigo is a strategy game for 2–4 players that plays in about 15 minutes, combining simultaneous action selection with simple rules and tactical movement. To win, be the first player to capture three opposing Epigons by pushing them off the edge of the board.

Each Epigon has a rank from 1 to 7, which determines the priority of its movement. At the start of every round, players choose three Orders from their hand and stack them in sequence. The top Order determines the first move, the middle Order the second, and the bottom Order the third. Arrows on each Order show the direction in which the corresponding Epigon will try to move.

Once all Orders are locked in, the stacks are revealed. For each position in the stacks, compare the two revealed ranks: the higher-ranking Epigon moves first, followed by the lower-ranking one. Matching ranks cancel, so neither Epigon moves. After three moves, players collect their Orders and begin the next round.

Movement creates three possibilities. An Epigon Slides into an empty space, attempts to Push when the destination is occupied, or is Blocked when a push cannot succeed. A pushing Epigon needs a majority of friendly pieces moving in the same direction for the push to happen.
