Eruption

About this board game

Eruption is a competitive survival game for 2–6 players that takes about 60 minutes to play. Each player must protect a village from rivers of molten lava unleashed by a volcano that has suddenly returned to life.

As lava enters your village, its temperature rises. If the heat continues to build, the village will eventually burn up, so every placement and defensive decision matters as the eruption spreads in every direction.

Players can respond to the advancing lava in several ways:

• Place hexagonal lava tiles defensively and strategically.
• Build walls from different materials to hold back the flow.
• Use action cards to rotate, replace, or remove lava tiles, while also cooling and fortifying your own village.

Players are also rewarded with action cards for directing lava toward other villages. These cards create opportunities to shift the danger away from your own home and increase the pressure on your opponents, while the volcanic threat continues to grow.

When the volcano has fully unleashed its fury, the player whose village has the lowest temperature wins. With its combination of defensive construction, tile manipulation, and direct competition, Eruption challenges you to take the heat while keeping your village standing.
