About this board game

Euphoria Essential Edition is a worker-placement and area-control game for 1–6 players, with games lasting about 75 minutes. It combines the original Euphoria core game with its expansion, revised rules and components, and an updated board layout.

The world has ended, and four distinct societies are struggling to shape what comes next. The Euphorians defend their walled city, Wastelanders preserve memories and farm among the ruins, and Subterrans build a hidden network of pipes, sewers, and secret passages beneath the surface.

Lead a team of dice workers and recruit cards as you seek to claim ownership of this dystopian world. Dice values represent worker knowledge: higher awareness can provide bonuses and affect player interaction, but if the collective knowledge of your available workers becomes too high, one may desert you.

• Generate commodities and construct markets.
• Dig tunnels to infiltrate opposing areas.
• Strengthen allegiances and unlock the use of a reticent recruit.
• Gather rare artifacts from the old world, especially matching pairs.
• Compete for land through area control.

Each player begins with two elite recruit cards: one pledged to their cause and another waiting to be convinced. Milestones can reveal the reticent recruit, even when another player reaches the required milestone first.

In Euphoria Essential Edition, constructing markets can impose harsh restrictions on personal freedoms, changing the game and opening new paths to victory. You may instead focus on artifacts coveted by the dystopian elite, trading them for tracts of land. Decide what your workers, allegiances, and ambitions are worth as you attempt to build a better dystopia.
