About this board game

EVE: The Second Genesis is a collectible card game for 2–6 players, with games taking about 20 minutes, set in the futuristic universe of EVE Online.

Humanity has endured millennia of destruction and triumph, leaving millions of settlers stranded far from Earth. In this distant galaxy, five human races compete for power: the Amarr, Minmatar, Gallente, Caldari, and the mysterious Jovians. The four races included in the Core Set are the Amarr, Minmatar, Gallente, and Caldari.

In the game, progressive corporations work to expand their influence across the galaxy. You must establish a reliable income by claiming the outer regions of space and harvesting their rich resources. These resources help you improve your star base and prepare for the threats posed by your opponents.

  • Claim outer space regions to produce income.
  • Enhance and defend your star base.
  • Build a fleet of spaceships.
  • Send ships on missions against opposing corporations.

Your fleet can reduce an opponent’s income, steal resources, and ultimately destroy their star base. Success depends on advancing your own position while putting pressure on rival bases throughout the galaxy.

Victory comes when all opposing star bases have been destroyed or when you meet an alternative victory condition. However, your resources are limited: if you must draw a card while your deck is empty, you lose the game.

Released in 2006, EVE: The Second Genesis brings the setting’s struggles for wealth, prestige, and power to the tabletop through direct competition between corporations and their fleets.
