About this board game
Excape is a push-your-luck dice racing game for 2–6 players, with plays lasting around 30 minutes. Players try to reach the end of the movement track first by rolling doubles and keeping their dice on the ranking chart until their next turn.
At the start of your turn, if your two dice are still on the chart, move your pawn 0–5 spaces. Then roll the dice, which use different number sets: one shows 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and X, while the other shows 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and X. Doubles are rare but valuable, advancing your pawn by 1, 2, or 3 spaces depending on the roll.
After rolling, treat the result as a two-digit number, with X counting as 0. You may stop and place the dice in an empty space on the six-position ranking chart, numbered 0–5, or roll again to chase another double. Roll doubles and you advance before choosing whether to continue. Roll an X or two Xs, however, and your turn ends while your pawn moves back one or two spaces.
The ranking chart creates a sharp risk-and-reward decision. If you place your dice in a lower-numbered space and your two-digit result is equal to or greater than dice in a higher-numbered space, you bump those dice off the chart. That player will not move at the start of their next turn. Higher spaces offer stronger protection from being bumped, but they also carry greater risk before your next turn.
Excape is also known as Exxtra and Rapido. Rapido includes modified two-player rules in which each player has two sets of dice but one pawn, adding another way to use the ranking chart and advance.
