About this board game

Expedition Altiplano is a two-player treasure-hunting game set among ancient Inca ruins, with a playing time of about 30 minutes. Both players seek the same rare relics, making every discovery a contest against a single rival.

Before the expedition begins, each treasure hunter assembles an exploration team by drafting cards from a central pile. Your team is built from archaeologists and soldiers of fortune, giving the early game a focused competition over the staff you need for the search ahead.

During the game, the contest extends beyond the central pile. You can poach staff members from your adversary, weakening their plans while strengthening your own, or salvage a staffer from one of the deadly traps found in the ruins.

Finding a relic is not simply a matter of searching. You must meet the required conditions before you can claim one of these rare treasures, so assembling and managing the right exploration team is essential. Since both players are pursuing the same relics, missing an opportunity can be especially costly.
