About this board game

Expressions is a cooperative card game for 2–5 players with a play time of about 20 minutes. Work together to decipher the hidden feelings in your friends’ hands while keeping emotional balance on your side.

Five emotion-themed suits shape the game’s expressive world:

• Anger
• Sadness
• Joy
• Fear
• Disgust

On each turn, choose whether to play a card or guess a card. Talking about the cards in your hand is off limits, so your team must communicate through the way cards are played. Each card can be placed in one of four orientations, allowing it to convey different information about your hand.

Playing cards to provide clues increases your Agony, while correctly guessing the emotions held by your friends earns Harmony. Incorrect guesses increase Agony even further, making every decision an important part of the team’s emotional balancing act.

Success depends on reading the available clues, making thoughtful guesses, and helping your teammates understand what your card orientations communicate without directly discussing your hand. Harmony leads to victory, but too much Agony threatens the team’s progress.

With its focus on silent communication, emotional deduction, and shared decisions, Expressions offers a compact cooperative challenge for groups seeking a distinctive card game experience.
