About this board game

FAB: Sicily is a two-player World War II wargame about the Allied invasion of Sicily, with games lasting about 240 minutes. Released in 2011, it challenges the Allied and Axis players to fight across a campaign shaped by terrain, deployment choices, and changing morale.

Before the invasion begins, the Allied player examines where the Axis player has deployed units and then chooses the invasion beaches. Will you follow Montgomery’s historical Husky plan, use Patton’s alternate plan, or create a hybrid approach of your own? Tough Sicilian terrain makes the attacker’s advance difficult, while worsening Italian morale creates growing problems for the defenders.

Every victory area and functioning port secured by the Allies adds a Fading Italian Morale Event Chit to the selection cup. As these chits are drawn, their effects spread across the front and increasingly affect Italian units. The cup also includes other events that can change the course of the battle:

  • Replacements
  • Fading Italian Morale
  • The Patton Soldier Slap
  • Flanking battalion-sized invasions

The campaign also creates pressure to contest the entire island. If neither side has achieved an automatic victory by the end of turn 9, the Axis player receives bonuses based on German units that exited Sicily through Messina and areas that remain under Axis control.

With new unit and asset types alongside its distinctive event system, FAB: Sicily presents a tense contest over beaches, ports, victory areas, and the dwindling strength of Italian resistance.
