Faraway: Under Starry Skies

About this expansion

Faraway: Under Starry Skies is a board game for 2–6 players, with play lasting around 30 minutes. Set during meteorite season in Alula, it introduces 15 new Meteor cards that join the Region cards from the base game and, possibly, the first expansion.

Meteor showers make this festive season a magnet for colorful visitors and excited pilgrims. According to local legends, the meteors may even change the physics of the continent in strange ways.

The Meteor cards are shuffled together with the Region cards and do not have an effect during the game itself. Their impact arrives during scoring, when they can significantly alter how your cards are evaluated.

• All Meteor cards in front of you remain face up for scoring, just like Sanctuary cards.
• Region cards that share a last digit with your Meteor cards are also kept face up.
• These Meteor cards and matching Region cards are taken into account when scoring each of your Region cards.
• New Meteor scoring requirements include acquiring four cards of the same biome or discarding one of your Sanctuary cards.

This scoring-focused addition creates new connections between Meteor cards, Region cards, Sanctuaries, and biomes. Because the Meteor cards are part of the shared deck, their presence can dramatically change the scoring phase without changing how cards affect play as they are acquired.

With its starry setting and unusual scoring conditions, Faraway: Under Starry Skies adds a fresh layer to the world of Alula. The expansion was released in 2026.
