About this board game

Featherlight is a feather-collecting card game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes. Help Pauly the Potoo bird restore order after falling from his nest, while trying to score more points than everyone else.

Every feather card in your hand has a scoring condition. Your final score depends on the cards you hold and on which feathers remain in the central nest at the end of the game. Each color follows similar scoring ideas, but individual feathers introduce slight variations.

  • Collect cards that reward feather sets.
  • Look for scoring conditions based on odd or even quantities of a color.
  • Take on more complex scoring goals for the chance to earn more points.

During play, you swap cards to shape both your hand and the nest. You might take a card another player wants, or bluff by appearing interested in one card so someone else takes it, revealing what you were really seeking.

The game ends as soon as the last card is drawn from one of the two draw piles. You can play a single game or compete in Pauly’s Feather Tournament, a three-game contest for players who want a longer challenge.

With changing card values, shared information, and opportunities to mislead your opponents, Featherlight asks you to balance your own scoring plans against the feathers everyone can see in the nest. Every swap can improve your collection, disrupt another player’s plans, or conceal your true intentions.
