About this board game

Filler is a card-driven game for 1–6 players that takes about 30 minutes, in which players gather ingredients, fill tasty pastry recipes, and compete to become the Star Baker.

Each player begins with a hand of three cards featuring different start times and basic ingredients. Simultaneously, everyone chooses a card to reveal, and the displayed start times determine the turn order. The earliest player to arrive for work takes the first turn, followed by the others around the table.

Cards serve multiple purposes throughout the game. From their hands, or pantries, players can spend acquired ingredients to fill recipes from the central row of available cards, known as the recipe book. Alternatively, they can restock by picking up all of their previously played cards, preparing their pantry for future rounds.

• Simultaneous action selection: Choose a card and reveal it alongside the other players.
• Time and resource management: Balance start times with the ingredients needed for recipes.
• Set collection and hand-building: Build useful card combinations as new options enter your pantry.
• Special actions and bonuses: Use distinctive cards and pursue available bonus points to guide your choices.

Every completed recipe provides new start times and ingredients for later rounds. Recipes may also earn points represented by money, customer reviews, or critical acclaim at the end of the game. The availability of bonuses and special-action cards adds variety and replayability as players make decisions in the kitchen.
