About this board game
Flashpoint: Golan is a two-player, approximately 360-minute simulation of a possible fifth Arab-Israeli war in and around the Golan Heights.
The major combatants are Israel, Syria, and Jordan, with possible intervention by US or Soviet Union forces. Set in a region marked by national, religious, and ethnic animosities, the game explores a hypothetical conflict on Israel’s northern and eastern borders.
Its Scenario Generation System determines the parameters of the conflict in a random yet logical fashion, so a scenario will rarely begin under the same conditions as one previously played. Two conventional, set-piece Campaign scenarios are also included, while five Battle scenarios provide an introduction to the game system.
Flashpoint: Golan depicts the intense, rapid pace of modern air-land warfare through a highly interactive sequence of play. Each enemy move or action can be detected and immediately reacted to, creating a fast-moving contest in which battlefield developments demand constant attention.
