About this board game

Fleets: The Pleiad Conflict is a strategic board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Set in 3400 AD, it places rival corporations in a struggle for control and influence across the colonized Pleiad star cluster.

Each player builds fleets around a flagship, adding escort ships and upgrade cards to shape their strengths and weaknesses. With megacredits, players purchase new fleets, escorts, and upgrades before deploying their forces to the star systems they want to control.

Every round follows six phases, creating a steady rhythm of planning, positioning, negotiation, and conflict:

  • Player order: A new randomized order gives different advantages and disadvantages to acting first or last.
  • Build and deployment: Spend megacredits, develop fleets, and place them at contested systems.
  • Diplomacy: Use diplomatic points to retreat your own fleet or force an opposing fleet to retreat from a system where you have a fleet.
  • Battle: Ships fire according to their initiative numbers, while battle actions can enhance the fight.
  • Reward: Gain victory points for systems held alone, along with energy, resources, megacredits, diplomatic points, and an action card.

Combat is dangerous: each ship gets one shot, but slower ships may be destroyed before they act. If a flagship is destroyed, its surviving escorts immediately retreat and the fleet is discarded.

Diplomatic leverage, careful fleet development, and decisive firepower all matter in Fleets: The Pleiad Conflict. The first player to reach 7 victory points wins.
