About this board game
Floresta is a competitive board game for 2–4 players, played in about 90 minutes, that focuses on managing a Mediterranean forest in central Portugal.
Across several boards depicting mountains, forests, and paths through nature, players work to shape a sustainable ecosystem while facing the persistent threat of recurring wildfires. Every decision influences how the forest develops and how effectively it can be protected.
On each turn, choose a card from your hand and apply its effect by placing a tree on one of the available boards. Strategic planting is essential: players must consider different locations, build a thriving forest, and take steps to prevent and fight fires.
- Plant trees across mountain, forest, and nature-path boards.
- Construct watchtowers to control fires.
- Strategically plant trees near watchtowers.
- Score points in different locations.
- Promote tourism and nurture local trees.
- Harvest wood and bring the lynx back to its habitat.
Floresta combines hand management, tree placement, forest development, and fire control in a contest for the best use of a precious ecosystem. Balancing growth with protection is central to the experience, as planting decisions can support the forest while also helping players respond to danger.
With its focus on Portuguese landscapes, wildlife, tourism, wood, and wildfire management, Floresta offers a competitive challenge built around the changing needs of the forest. Plan carefully, protect your surroundings, and strive to emerge as the leading guardian of this Mediterranean habitat.
