About this board game

Floristry is a two-player tile-laying game that plays in about 20 minutes, set at the historic Aalsmeer Dutch Auction.

Each round begins with a fast-moving Dutch auction. A clock counts down from 15 seconds, while the price drops every 3 seconds. The unique web app runs the auctions, creating a tense contest in which players must think quickly, bid carefully, and pay close attention.

Winning the right flowers is only part of the challenge. Every player must also watch what their rival needs, since the available flowers can shape both players’ plans. Once new flowers are won, players simultaneously and strategically place them into their storefront frame.

As the game reaches its conclusion, each player’s window display is evaluated by its largest connected patch of every flower type. These patches generate Charm, so thoughtful placement can turn a carefully assembled display into a winning one.

Floristry combines real-time auction pressure with spatial planning in a compact head-to-head experience. You will need to balance the urgency of a falling price against the longer-term value of the flowers you place, while keeping an eye on your opponent’s developing display. Whoever has the most Charm at the end wins.
