About this board game

Forge is a worker-placement strategy game for 1–4 players, played in about 120 minutes, in which Master Blacksmiths operate and develop great forges in medieval Europe.

Each player begins with a basic blacksmith’s shop equipped with the tools needed to forge the most basic items. From there, players send their Assistants and Master Blacksmith to complete tasks in and out of the city, acquiring the resources needed to improve their forge and fulfill contracts.

Developing your forge and completing contracts are central to earning victory points. Players can work toward a variety of achievements while pursuing points through different methods, creating a broad set of goals throughout the game.

In Forge, progress is measured not only by the resources you acquire, but also by the achievements you accomplish. Every player works toward completing five different achievements, which ultimately determines when the game reaches its conclusion.

Once one player has accomplished five different achievements, the current round is completed. Final scoring then takes place, and the player with the most victory points wins the contest between the Master Blacksmiths.
