About this board game
Forlorn: Hope is a low-complexity tactical combat game for 1–2 players, with sessions lasting about 40 minutes. One player commands a squad of human Space Marines aboard the claustrophobic space station Hope, while the other controls a nearly unlimited horde of vicious alien Xenos.
The Marine player must use a limited supply of Action Points to direct the Forlorn Squad and complete a desperate mission. Luck and a timely rush of adrenaline may help the squad overcome the odds, but every decision matters as the Xenos press in from all sides.
Against the Marines’ firepower, the Xenos rely on overwhelming numbers and fearless determination. Their single-minded advance creates a tight, tense struggle in which players may need to make whatever sacrifice is necessary to keep the mission alive.
- Tactical combat between Space Marines and a relentless Xeno horde
- Two shipboard maps set aboard the contested station Hope
- Rules for both two-player and solitaire play
- Quick-playing, low-complexity gameplay
With enemies approaching from every direction, the Forlorn Squad must fight for survival in the station’s confined corridors. The Marine player’s goal is to complete the missions necessary for humanity to survive, ideally with at least a few squad members still standing.
Whether facing an opponent or taking on the horde alone, Forlorn: Hope delivers a focused battle of firepower, limited resources, and relentless pressure. Can humanity’s defenders hold the station, or will the Xenos prove too numerous to stop?
