Freedom: The Underground Railroad – Promo Cards is an 18-card expansion for 1–4 players, designed for games lasting about 90 minutes. Released in 2013, it adds Abolitionist, Opposition, and Reserve Cards to the card-driven cooperative game.

In the core game, players work together for the abolitionist movement and strive to help bring an end to slavery in the United States. They combine cards featuring figures and events from Early Independence through the Civil War with action tokens and the benefits of their roles to influence the game.

This promo pack brings together three mini-expansions that were originally introduced as separate Kickstarter stretch goals. Because all three goals were met, the cards were shipped together in one pack, which was also made available through the BGG Store.

• Abolitionist Cards: Add historical proponents and resolution for all three eras, including Josiah Henson, Thomas Garrett, Anna Elizabeth Dickinson, John Parker Hale, and Robert Purvis. Each card includes text introducing an important historical figure.
• Opposition Cards: Represent laws and regulations that supported the slavery States and hindered the abolitionist movement, including the Fugitive Slave Act and U.S. Marshals.
• Reserve Cards: Add pro-abolitionist groups and ideas, such as the Quakers, the Personal Liberty Laws, and the Principles of ’98. Each card helps the abolitionist movement.

With its combination of historical figures, harmful legislation, and supportive organizations and ideas, Freedom: The Underground Railroad – Promo Cards expands the game’s thematic card pool while remaining focused on its cooperative struggle.
