About this board game

Froggies is a 2–4 player card game that takes about 20 minutes, challenging players to arrange their cards in numerical order and clear their rows before everyone else.

Each player begins with a face-down row of eight cards. On your turn, take either the top card of the deck or the discard pile, then place it in the matching position: a 1 belongs in the first spot, a 2 in the second, and so on. You may replace only a face-down card, revealing the card underneath and potentially starting another placement.

This chain of reveals is the heart of the game. Frogs act as jokers and can represent any number, while trash and numbers already face up in your row end your turn when revealed. A frog can even move to another face-down position after helping you place a newly revealed card.

  • Cards numbered 1–8, with six copies of each number
  • Four frog cards that serve as jokers
  • Eight trash cards
  • Face-down rows that gradually become ordered and revealed

When you complete a row of eight face-up cards, the other players receive one final turn. A new round then begins, and players who completed their rows start with seven cards instead of eight. The target row becomes shorter each time, but completed players also face a restriction: all 8s count as trash for them.

Rounds continue until a player reaches a one-card row and completes it with a 1 or a frog. Froggies allows multiple players to win if they finish their final row during the same round, making every last turn matter.
