Fruitoplay

About this board game

Fruitoplay is a set collection game for 2–6 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Across three rounds, players simultaneously select fruit cards to compete for target cards and build collections that determine their final scores.

Each round begins with a river of seven target fruit cards, one for each turn. On every turn, players consider the current target, choose a fruit card, and reveal their choices at the same time. The player whose card matches the target’s color and has the smallest difference from its value wins that target card.

If nobody plays a card in the target’s color, the card closest in value wins instead. When cards are tied for closest, the tied cards are ignored. This creates a concise selection challenge in which every played card is considered against both color and value.

After the seven turns of a round, add your remaining hand cards to your collection, keeping the different fruit types separate. Then score by multiplying the value of the column with the most fruit by the value of the column with the fewest fruit. If you have only one column, multiply that value by itself, so winning more cards is not automatically beneficial.

After three rounds, the player with the highest score wins. With its compact play time and simultaneous decisions, Fruitoplay combines target-by-target competition with a collection that rewards careful balance.
