About this board game

Furnace Duel is a two-player industrial strategy game for 2 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Play a standalone contest or enter a campaign of games across six different boards, competing for global industrial domination.

The core gameplay follows the acclaimed Furnace system. During each round, you bid for Company cards, take the cards you win, or receive compensation, then use your companies and manage resources to build the most money by the end of the fourth round.

In Furnace Duel, compensation comes from the board rather than an effect on Company cards. Claim routes to expand your network, and use the value of your disc to determine how many times you may activate the effects of connected Cities. These effects can be used in any order or combination, creating flexible opportunities as your network develops.

At the start of the game, the available tracks lead from the City corresponding to the relevant card. As you connect more routes, new tracks open up and provide access to more lucrative Cities. Cards can also be upgraded with city effects, giving your industrial engine additional possibilities.

Campaign play also gives the runner-up a board-specific bonus, offering a measure of advantage in the next game. With evolving networks, direct bidding, and changing board rules, Furnace Duel combines industrial development with a focused head-to-head struggle.
