About this board game
Gaslands: Post-Apocalyptic Vehicular Combat is a tabletop wargame for 2–8 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. In a ruined wasteland, players form racing teams and compete in brutal car-on-car destruction between races.
Players race through a course of makeshift gates, passing through them in the correct order and direction before reaching the finish line. The course is otherwise defined by the players, giving each race a flexible layout while keeping the route and objective clear.
Movement combines templates with custom skid dice to create fluid, unpredictable maneuvers. Each round is divided into six phases, called “gears,” and vehicles move during every phase by following a maneuver template numbered no higher than their current gear.
A vehicle’s gear determines which templates it can use and therefore which maneuvers it can perform. Gear also affects the vehicle’s other abilities, making the choice of gear an important part of navigating the course and surviving the chaos.
- Race through gates in the right order and direction.
- Use movement templates and skid dice for madcap vehicle movement.
- Fight with car-on-car attacks and defensive rolls.
- Compete for money and fame while gathering resources for the next race.
Combat and other effects are resolved with six-sided dice. Attackers hit on a result of 4 or higher, while defenders cancel successful dice by rolling 6s.
With its combination of racing, flexible courses, gear-based movement, and vehicular combat, Gaslands turns every run to the finish line into a contest of speed, control, and destruction.
