GD ’40 is a high-complexity tactical combat game for 2 players, covering the Battle for Stonne, France, in 1940, with playing times ranging from 6 to 20 hours. Released in 1993, it is the fifth game in The Gamers’ Tactical Combat Series.

The German breakthrough at Sedan opened the way for Guderian’s advance toward the English Channel. In this pivotal confrontation, players can explore an alternative outcome: a successful French player may force OKW to slow the advance, potentially giving the French army time to respond to the surprise attack at Sedan.

GD ’40 presents the battle at a detailed scale, with turns representing 20 minutes and each hex covering 125 yards. Units include infantry platoons and individual vehicles, placing the focus firmly on tactical combat and the struggle for Stonne.
