About this board game

Geisterwäldchen is a tense chase game for 2–6 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Designed for ages 5 and up, it brings children and a pursuing ghost together in a mysterious woodland near an old ruined castle.

The children have hidden themselves in the woods, hoping to avoid the old ghost who once lived in the castle. Now the ghost is after them, circling the forest as the children try not to get caught. This creates a suspenseful game of pursuit that is accessible to younger players while remaining engaging for the whole family.

Magnets in the figures play a major role in Geisterwäldchen, adding a distinctive physical element to the chase. New figures and new scenery support this different game principle, giving the setting a fresh identity while continuing Michelle Schanen’s successful ghost theme.

The combination of a haunted forest, hidden children, and a circling ghost makes every moment feel charged with anticipation. Rather than simply presenting a spooky theme, the game turns the ghost’s pursuit into its central experience.

Released in 2005, Geisterwäldchen is a family-friendly ghost game with a strong sense of atmosphere and a clear premise. It is suitable for children from age five, but its tense chase makes it not just for kids.
