Gekido: Bot Battles is a fast dice-driven arena game for 2–4 players, with fights designed to last about 30 minutes.

In a futuristic world where bot battling is the most entertaining sport around, players face off in the arena using cunning moves and swift attacks. Each round, the bots lock onto a target before their players roll dice to execute attacks and try to eliminate the competition.

Secret powers hidden in the arena can change the battle. Players who use their opportunities wisely may activate these abilities while opponents attempt to survive the escalating fight. The last bot standing claims the electric glory.

The first-edition description presents a different story for the same brutal contest. The Lord of Gems, Jikan, is the mightiest dragon of all, but he fears that one of his sons could eventually replace him. After swallowing them, he discovers that they are battling inside his stomach, and the first dragon to win and escape will become the next Lord of Gems.

In that first-edition dice game, each player controls a dragon and tries to reduce opponents’ life dice from 6 to zero. Players roll six six-sided dice and pursue combinations shown on their character sheet, including pairs, three of a kind, and four of a kind. Failed gambles can hurt the attacker instead, while losing a life die can unlock new special abilities.

Whether framed as a clash of dragons or a futuristic bot battle, Gekido centers on risky dice decisions, escalating powers, and a decisive fight for survival.
