About this board game

GembloQ is an abstract strategy game for 2–4 players, with approximately 30 minutes of play time. Each player uses a unique color and aims to place every piece from their set onto the square game board.

The game features translucent, colored pieces made up of one to five squares. Every player has an identical set of pieces, creating a shared framework while each player works with their own color and placement options.

Placement follows two important rules:

• Your first piece must be placed in the corner of the board closest to you.
• Each later piece must touch the corner of one of your own pieces already on the board.

These rules define the central structure of GembloQ. Starting from the nearby corner, players build their positions piece by piece while working toward the goal of getting rid of their entire set.

The varied shapes, ranging from single-square pieces to pieces made of five squares, give the board a changing arrangement as the game progresses. Because every player receives the same set in a different color, the focus remains on how each collection is placed within the shared board.

Released in 2014, GembloQ offers a compact abstract strategy experience based on colored components, a simple objective, and a distinctive corner-touching placement rule. Its clear setup and defined placement requirements make the board state easy to follow as players work to place all of their pieces.
