About this board game

Gettysburg 150 is a division-level American Civil War strategy game for 1–2 players, with a listed play time of 120 minutes. Players command Union and Confederate forces across a hex-based representation of the Gettysburg battlefield, seeking to change the course of the historic battle.

Each turn, players receive a variable number of command action points to move units, conduct fire combat, and launch close attacks. You will always have some actions available, but never know exactly how many, recreating the uncertainty of command and control. Victory comes from capturing terrain objectives or eliminating enemy units and driving the opposing army from the field.

Built on the ideas of the Hold the Line game system, Gettysburg 150 features a combat results table and division-level infantry units, with cavalry represented at brigade level. The non-modular board depicts the larger battlefield, while artillery is weaker at longer ranges than in the related system.

  • Four scenarios cover the first, second, and third days of the battle, plus the Confederate attack on Little Round Top.
  • Optional rules include early reinforcements, army demoralization from heavy losses, corps organization, force march, and a Chaos of War table.
  • The day-battle scenarios take about an hour, while the Little Round Top scenario takes 20–30 minutes.
  • The complete three-day battle can be played in approximately 2.5–3 hours.

The game includes a mounted 25 × 22 map, two counter sheets with large 7/8-inch counters, dice, and rules. Whether you take the Union side and hold the heights or lead the Confederacy in an attempt to crush the Union army as it arrives piecemeal, Gettysburg 150 places the key decisions in your hands.
