About this board game

Gettysburg is a medium-complexity wargame for 1–2 players that recreates the epic Battle of Gettysburg in approximately 90 minutes.

Set during July 1–3, 1863, the game places one player in control of the Army of the Potomac under General Meade and the other in control of the Army of Northern Virginia under General Lee. The battle unfolds over six turns, with each turn representing half a day.

Lee’s Confederates seek to open the road to Baltimore and Washington or destroy Meade’s army. This focused objective gives the game a clear historical framework while keeping its scope centered on one of the American Civil War’s most famous battles.

Gettysburg is the first volume in the C3i Series. It is a standalone game included with RBM Studio’s C3i magazine number 32 and is also available in a Designer’s Deluxe Boxed Edition. Solitaire playability is rated high, making the game suitable for solo play as well as for two opposing players.

The game uses a compact presentation designed for a 1–2 hour session. Its components include:

• One 11 × 17-inch color map
• Twenty-eight 5/8-inch counters
• One 12-page rulebook
• One player aid card

The game scale features a half-day turn, hexes representing approximately 667 yards or 610 meters, and units that are mainly corps. Players must provide two six-sided dice for play. Released in 2018, Gettysburg offers a concise way to experience this pivotal engagement through a dedicated historical wargame format.
