About this board game
Godsforge is a simultaneous-play strategy game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 40 minutes. Set in a world where Etherium has nearly vanished, it challenges elite spellcasters to control the last place where this primal resource can be harnessed.
Each round, everyone rolls four dice at the same time and secretly places one of four cards face down. Players then reveal and resolve their cards in any order, paying their costs with specific dice results, the sum of rolled dice, veilstones, or a combination of these resources. A rolled 1 can represent any number, while an unused 6 can be spent to gain a veilstone.
- Spells provide powerful one-shot effects.
- Creations remain in play and may offer enter-play abilities, attack and defense values, or sacrifice abilities.
- Each player attacks the player on their left and defends against the player on their right.
- After card effects resolve, attack and defense values determine the damage dealt.
Once combat is assessed, players discard any unwanted cards and refill their hands to four. This keeps the action moving while giving every player fresh options for the next simultaneous turn.
Elimination does not simply remove a player from the story. Once someone is defeated, everyone still in the game begins taking damage from that player each round, accelerating the endgame and increasing the pressure on the remaining spellcasters.
With dice-driven resource management, hidden card choices, direct attacks, and flexible timing for resolving effects, Godsforge creates a tense contest over dwindling power. Roll carefully, choose when to unleash your cards, and defend your position before a rival claims the Godsforge.
