About this board game
Golden Age of Piracy: 1718 is a solitaire tactical-level board wargame for one player, with an approximately 1000-minute play time. Set in the Caribbean during 1718, it combines action, adventure, wargame, and RPG elements in an open-ended sandbox where you choose your own path as a pirate captain.
Move your pirate ship across the Caribbean map while searching for merchant ships to attack. Sell captured goods, build your wealth, and decide how far you are willing to go in pursuit of booty. Your choices can include raiding merchant vessels, pillaging towns, kidnapping or assassinating a town governor or his daughter, gambling in a tavern, and recovering buried treasure from acquired maps.
The pirate town of Nassau serves as a key destination. Visit to buy and sell goods, and repair your ship as you prepare for further adventures. You may also construct a hidden pirate haven, giving you a place to store stolen goods and booty while allowing you to repair your ship at no cost.
- Explore the Caribbean map as a pirate captain.
- Attack merchant ships and towns to increase your wealth.
- Trade goods, gamble, and repair your ship in Nassau.
- Recover buried treasure from acquired maps.
- Build a hidden haven for storing booty and free repairs.
The ultimate objective in Golden Age of Piracy: 1718 is to save enough booty to buy your pardon before the Royal Navy invades Nassau. This open-ended design lets you pursue different opportunities while facing a clear and dangerous deadline. Will your pirate captain secure freedom, or will the adventure end at the gallows for piracy?
