About this board game

Good Face Bad Face is a bluffing and push-your-luck card game for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Released in 2023, it challenges you to collect four Good Faces while avoiding the Bad Faces that can ruin your progress.

Each turn, one player creates a mystery pile from cards in their hand and passes it around the table. When the pile reaches you, you must decide whether to turn over the top card or pass the pile onward. That simple choice is at the heart of the game.

• Try to place four Good Faces in front of you while avoiding Bad Faces.

Revealing Good Faces moves you toward your goal, but turning over a Bad Face has a severe consequence: it chases away all the Good Faces you have been collecting. Every decision therefore carries risk, especially when you are unsure what card may be waiting on top.

Success depends on more than luck. You will need to watch the cards, judge when to keep pushing, and decide when passing the pile is the wiser move. At the same time, your opponents are watching you and trying to work out whether you are confident, cautious, or bluffing.

With its deceptively simple rules and high-stakes decisions, Good Face Bad Face creates tense moments from a small choice: reveal the card or pass it on. Read the table, get into your opponents’ heads, and take the risk that brings you closer to four Good Faces.
