About this board game
GOSU 2: Tactics is a fantasy strategy game for 2–4 players, with each game taking about 45 minutes. In a world dominated by goblins, the rising blood moon signals a new war as rival warlords recruit armies and send them into battle.
Players build armies from five goblin clans, recruiting soldiers, heroes, magicians, and other classes. Each goblin belongs to one of three ranks: level I goblins must be recruited first, followed by level II and level III goblins. Higher-level goblins can only be played when a lower-level goblin of the same clan supports them, encouraging players to specialize in compatible clans and abilities.
On a turn, you can play a goblin, use a goblin’s power, draw cards, or pass. Abilities can trigger when goblins are recruited, attacked, removed from play, or placed alongside other goblins. These effects create a tactical battle that combines elements of Race for the Galaxy and Magic: The Gathering.
- Build an army through three goblin ranks.
- Choose among five clans with abilities that work well together.
- Use seven ability symbols, each with a basic and MAX version.
- Discover the new “link” ability.
- Play with fully multilingual cards featuring no text.
Once every player has passed, the player with the most powerful army wins the battle. Cards remaining in hand carry over between battles, so committing your entire force at once may leave you with fewer options later. The first player to win three battles wins the game.
Compared with its predecessor, GOSU 2: Tactics removes activation tokens, changes the clan structure, and introduces its symbol-based abilities. Every card is printed with a shiny “cold foil” finish, giving these glitzy goblins an eye-catching presence on the table.
