About this board game

GoTown is a card game of real-estate ego for 2–4 players, with a playing time of about 20 minutes. Each player races to build a five-story tower before anyone else can reach the sky.

Constructing your tower requires more than simply collecting cards. Each floor is made from two floor cards placed side-by-side, turning every new level into another step toward victory—and another target for your rivals.

GoTown encourages a bit of (un)friendly competition. Players can steal or destroy other players’ stories, while special actions create opportunities to disrupt ambitious construction projects and change the balance of the race.

  • Build a five-story tower before your opponents.
  • Assemble each floor from two floor cards.
  • Steal or destroy other players’ stories.
  • Use special actions to protect your progress or interfere with rivals.

Your growing tower may need protection, so keep a guard dog close by. You can also play the donut food truck to send everyone on a break, adding another playful twist to the competition.

Released in 2017, GoTown combines a clear building objective with direct player interaction. Every story brings you closer to the finish, but you are never the only player reaching upward. Build carefully, defend your construction, and seize the chance to slow down the competition.
