Battles of the Warrior Queen is a two-player historical battle game covering the major engagements of Boudicca’s rebellion against the legions of Emperor Nero in AD 60.

The module presents three dramatic confrontations from the Iceni uprising. At Mona Insulis, Roman forces under Governor Suetonius Paulinus must make an opposed amphibious landing on the island of Anglesey, where heavily armed Britons and Druid priests await them.

At Camulodunum, the IXth Legion Hispana marches from Lindum to defend the Roman colony against Boudicca’s advancing forces. Its commander, Petillius Cerialis, faces another test of fortune as the rebellion gathers strength and momentum.

The final engagement, Bannaventa, places Paulinus and the concentrated XIVth Gemina and XXth Legions in a defile protected by dense forest. With Boudicca’s coalition approaching, Rome seeks to force a decisive battle while the Iceni struggle to maintain control of their disparate warrior force.

To play this module, you need the maps, counters, and rules included with it, along with the rules and some counters from Caesar: Conquest of Gaul. Battles of the Warrior Queen can also be played using the Simple Great Battles of History rules.

With its focus on a pivotal Roman campaign and the greatest British threat to Rome’s domination of Britain, the game places players at the center of a rebellion that could determine the fate of Britannia.
