About this board game
Gudetama: The Tricky Egg Card Game is a trick-taking card game for 2–7 players with a play time of about 20 minutes. Its unusual goal turns a familiar card-game idea upside down: you want to avoid winning the final trick.
Each round consists of seven tricks. Players compete to take cards throughout the round, but the last trick is the one that matters most. The player who wins it scores points equal to the value of the card that won the trick, and scoring points is something you want to avoid.
That creates a careful balance between taking cards and managing the end of the round. You can take as many cards as you want, but you must avoid getting caught by the final card. The winner of the last trick is left with the unwanted points, making every round a race to stay clear of the finish.
