About this board game

Guns or Treasure is a speedy buccaneering and bluffing game for 2–6 players that plays in about 15 minutes. Each player secretly prepares their ships by laying down 10 cards, creating a hidden mix of weapons, riches, and danger.

Cards add guns, treasure, or a bomb to your ships. Once the ships are built, players take turns choosing whether to maraud another player’s ship or retreat to safety. The decision is simple, but every attack carries risk.

Marauding is the key to victory. A successful attack lets you score the treasure from both ships, but your target may be protected by guns—or rigged with a bomb. Reading the other players, judging the danger, and deciding when to strike are central to every turn.
