Hadara: Marketplaces & Monuments

About this expansion

Hadara: Marketplaces & Monuments is a mini-expansion for Hadara for 2–5 players, with an approximately 90-minute play time. Released in 2019, it adds two new elements to the game: marketplaces and monuments.

Marketplaces let players profit from extra food. Each market tile has two sides: a small side requiring 6 yellow and 2 extra green, and a large side requiring 18 yellow and 6 extra green. After normal income, players who meet the requirements add or flip the market tile in their marketplace.

• A small market provides 1 bonus coin, while a large market provides 2.
• Bonus coins may go into the coin pool or be placed below the market.
• Coins in the market can advance the corresponding track or contribute to end-game points.
• A marketplace is worth 5 points on its small side or 15 points on its large side at the end of the game.

Monuments reward balanced development. To use a monument, players need 24 points in both culture and military. Reusing the monument provides 12 coins and 16 victory points.

Players may instead pay 4 coins to build the monument. This awards even more points, along with additional movement on a track or end-game points. The choice adds another way to turn progress and resources into rewards.

With its focus on surplus food, track advancement, culture, military, and end-game scoring, Hadara: Marketplaces & Monuments gives players new goals to pursue alongside the core game. Its marketplaces and monuments create additional opportunities for thoughtful resource use and balanced expansion.
