About this board game
Hamster Roll is a dexterity game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 40 minutes. Each player competes to play all of their wooden pieces first on a wooden exercise-wheel-shaped playing surface.
The wheel is divided into numerous segments, separated by low fences. On your turn, place one of your pieces somewhere within the wheel. Your placement may cause the wheel to move and rotate, changing the position of the playing surface and putting the pieces at risk.
The central challenge is managing that movement while trying to keep the wheel’s rolling to a minimum. If any pieces fall out of the wheel, you must add them back to your supply, making it harder to finish your pieces.
- Players: 2–4
- Playing time: about 40 minutes
- Core action: place one wooden piece inside the segmented wheel
- Goal: play all of your pieces before the other players
Every player starts with seven wooden pieces, so each turn brings you closer to victory—or creates another opportunity for pieces to fall out. The low fences divide the wheel into playable sections, while the wheel’s movement makes each placement a careful physical challenge.
With its unusual wooden wheel and simple objective, Hamster Roll turns piece placement into a tense test of control. Choose where to place each piece, watch how the wheel reacts, and try to be the first player with nothing left in your supply.
