About this board game

Heckmeck am Karteneck is a card game for 2–6 players, released in 2021, in which chickens compete to collect the most worms from a grill. Each round, players use cards from their hands to pursue fried worm portions of different values.

Players play cards and build their totals, carefully deciding how long to remain in the round. Leaving earlier may mean receiving less, but it also preserves cards for later rounds. Clever play depends on judging your hand at exactly the right moment and knowing when to stop.

There is an additional risk once a portion has been claimed. Each player stacks their gained portions in front of them, and only the most recently won portion—the one on top—can be stolen. A thief may take it when their total of played cards, at the moment they leave the round, matches the value of that portion.

• Play cards to compete for worm portions with different values.
• Choose when to exit each round and preserve cards for future opportunities.
• Protect your top portion from opponents who can match its value.
• Score the worms on your collected portions at the end of the game.

Players may not place cards of the same value in subsequent rounds, adding another consideration to each decision. The game ends after all worm portions have been taken, and the winner is the player with the most worms on their gained portions.
