About this board game

Helvetia Cup is a two-player simulation football game with approximately 45-minute matches, set in a fantasy world of tactical rivalry. Each player takes the role of a coach, guiding a team through epic games and titanic championships.

Build your side from a roster of nine players, then choose one goalkeeper, four players, and two substitutes for each game. Every player has distinct abilities, including dribbling, shooting, tackling, pressure, and clearance, giving coaches different tools for handling the action on the pitch.

• Move all your players during each turn.
• One hexagon of movement is free; additional movement requires spending boost.
• When a player has no boost remaining, all of that player’s abilities are divided by two.
• Contest the ball with actions such as stealing or tackling, then pass or shoot when attacking.

After movement, the defensive player can act if a defender occupies the same hex as the ball. The offense must then protect its possession, while looking for an opportunity to pass or shoot. This creates a direct contest between positioning, player abilities, resource management, and luck.

Helvetia Cup offers both a family version and a geek version, allowing the fantasy football experience to suit different groups. Its hex-based movement and boost system make every advance a tactical decision: spend resources for extra reach now, or preserve them so your players’ abilities remain effective later.
