About this board game

Hex Hex Next is a deviously simple, fast-paced card game for 3–6 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Released in 2005, it features all-new cards and can be played either as a standalone game or combined with the original Hex Hex.

Designed for delightfully mean-spirited interaction, Hex Hex Next offers fresh ways to turn the cards and hands around the table against your opponents. Its effects invite players to find inventive ways to “stab a friend in the back” while keeping the action moving.

The game introduces several distinctive card concepts. With No Man’s Hand, you play with no cards in your own hand by using the hands of others. Rot affects everyone who touches the Hex, while The Forgotten rewards you with Voice for each card still in your hand at the end of the round.

  • No Man’s Hand: Use the hands of other players instead of holding cards yourself.
  • Rot: Let everyone who touches the Hex “rot” away.
  • The Forgotten: Gain Voice for each card remaining in your hand when the round ends.
  • Rip Asunder: Split your Hex and place one before every other player.

These all-new cards expand the ways a game of Hex Hex can unfold without requiring the original game. Add Hex Hex Next to your current Hex Hex deck for even more ways to play, or enjoy it on its own with 3–6 players.
