HiFi

About this board game

HiFi is a 2024 board game for 2–4 players, with each session lasting about 70 minutes. Players become musical producers helping The Meeples reunite and complete the B-side of their unfinished “Vinil” album.

Each turn begins at the turntable, where players spin the record’s rondel to select an action within reach. Alternatively, they can spend production points to perform one of the other available actions, giving them another way to plan their work in the studio.

After resolving an action, players allocate audio cards to five studio tracks. Scoring depends on the buttons shown along a producer’s equalization track and on the cards already present in the relevant studio track. When a guitarist card is allocated, every player who helped with the guitar’s equalization earns points, making collaboration an important part of the recording process.

• Earn bonuses when sound waves or time-track positions match.

Matching elements such as sound waves or positions on the time track can also unlock bonus actions. Each round represents a song recorded for the album’s A-side, providing information that can help players with the B-side recordings.

Depending on the number of players, the A-side takes 6–8 rounds to explore. Once all of its songs have been heard, the game ends, and the producer who contributed most effectively to constructing the B-side wins. In HiFi, tactical action selection, audio-card placement, and shared contributions come together in a musical race to finish a long-awaited record.
