About this board game

High Frontier (3rd Edition) is a space exploration game for 1–5 players, with sessions lasting about 240 minutes. Each player leads a space enterprise seeking to establish factories on planets and asteroids while competing for the most victory points.

Every player begins with three water tanks, which serve as fuel. On each turn, players use two action points to carry out actions from the game’s selection of eight options. These actions include moving a spacecraft and buying new technologies, creating a framework for planning expeditions and developing an enterprise.

The game ends when the predetermined number of bases has been built. Victory goes to the player with the most victory points, making factory and base construction central to the race for success.

This 2017 deluxe edition combines the High Frontier base game with the Colonization expansion. It also adds 31 new card designs and redesigned charts, providing an expanded presentation of the spacefaring experience.
