About this board game
High Tide is a dice-driven beach game for 3–6 players that takes about 25 minutes to play. Each player attempts to place deck chairs in different beach sections, aiming to get closer to the sea than the other players.
The challenge is judging just how close to the water to go. Push too far, and the high tide will swallow your deck chairs. Hold back too much, and another player may claim a better position.
At the heart of High Tide is a press-your-luck decision. The dice help determine how players pursue their beach positions, creating a balance between reaching for the most desirable spots and avoiding the consequences of getting too close.
- Dice-driven gameplay
- Press-your-luck decisions
- Deck-chair placement across different beach sections
- A race for positions closer to the sea
Every placement matters as players compare their positions along the beach. The goal is not simply to move toward the sea, but to secure a stronger spot than everyone else without losing the deck chairs to the incoming tide.
With its clear beach setting and straightforward central dilemma, High Tide turns each choice into a risk-versus-reward moment. Released in 2016, it offers a focused contest in which careful timing and a willingness to press your luck can lead to the best spots on the beach.
