About this board game
Hit or Miss is a quick-thinking party game for 3–8 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Players draw a category card, race to write related words, and then rely on intuition to score.
Each round gives players 45 seconds to list as many words connected to the category as come to mind. When time runs out, the die determines the kind of answer a player must seek: a HIT is a word everyone wrote, while a MISS is a word only that player wrote.
The challenge is choosing wisely. A successful HIT depends on thinking in sync with the other players, while a successful MISS requires finding an answer that stands apart from the group. The game rewards both shared intuition and individual creativity.
- Players: 3–8
- Playing time: approximately 30 minutes
- Core activity: writing related words from a category
- Scoring choice: select a shared answer on HIT or a unique answer on MISS
As the rounds continue, players must balance obvious responses against more unexpected ideas. The highest-scoring player wins, making every category and die roll an opportunity to change the standings.
With its short timed turns and easy-to-grasp objective, Hit or Miss is designed to turn a gathering into an energetic contest of word association and group prediction. The game was released in 2006 and received the 2007 Mensa Select recognition.
