About this board game

Hobbit Tales from the Green Dragon Inn is a storytelling game for 2 to 5 players, with games lasting around 60 minutes. Set in the Shire, it invites players to become Hobbits sharing fireside tales over mugs of beer at their favourite inn.

During each turn, one player takes the role of Narrator and improvises a story using a hand of illustrated Adventure cards. The tale may lead through silent woods and remote mountains, with Elves, Goblins, Giants, and other memorable elements of Middle-earth populating the story.

The other players do not simply listen. They try to twist the Narrator’s tale by playing Hazard cards and fearsome monsters, challenging the story as it unfolds. Drinks are served, smoke-rings are blown, and the best narrator is cheered by everyone present.

Released in 2013, Hobbit Tales from the Green Dragon Inn includes 75 Adventure cards and 40 Hazard cards, alongside its other components. Whether the story reaches distant mountains or encounters a fearsome creature, every turn gives the Narrator and fellow Hobbits a chance to shape the evening’s entertainment.
