About this board game

Hunch! is a word game for 3–6 players, played in about 60 minutes, in which you use bought clues to guess secret words.

The challenge begins when players create clues for their secret words. However, you cannot simply invent the clues you want to use: you must buy them from the other players. This makes every choice matter as you look for clues that are both creative and useful.

To succeed, you need several kinds of judgment. Think creatively when making desirable clues, show empathy when deciding which clues to buy, and trust your instincts when guessing another player’s secret word.

Hunch! is played over three rounds, with each round following the same three-phase structure: creating clues, selling and buying clues, and guessing secret words. The repeated sequence gives players multiple opportunities to judge clues, make purchases, and test their word associations.

Victory points are awarded both to players who guess correctly and to the players who own the guessed words. As a result, successful guessing and creating words that others can identify both contribute to victory.

After the third round, the player with the most victory points wins. If players are tied, their remaining money serves as the tie-breaker. Released in 2022, Hunch! combines wordplay, clue evaluation, buying decisions, and carefully judged guesses in one competitive party-style experience.
