About this board game

Hunting Party is a strategy game for 2–5 players that plays in about 90 minutes, blending German strategy with American fantasy. Players race to defeat the Dark Agents and solve the Prophecy by assembling a destined party from 36 unique Hunters.

To recruit Hunters, players bid using shares of the King’s Bounty. Each Hunter provides skills and abilities that can shape your plans, while the bounty can also be spent on items that improve party skills, grant abilities, or level Hunters up into champions.

Every decision contributes to a wider strategy. You must manage shares and gold while planning how to use your Hunters’ abilities and items to create opportunities and powerful combinations. Deals may involve cooperation or aggression, and the bidding, misleading Prophecy information, and shifting relationships create an intensely psychological experience.

• Build a large, inexpensive, diversified, or highly specific party.
• Develop ability combinations, focus on defeating Dark Agents, or attack other players.
• Hoard gold, collect items, or work toward solving the Prophecy.

The game supports multiple build paths, so there is no single route to success. The central challenge is deciding how you want to play, then turning your available Hunters, items, gold, and shares into a coherent plan.

Each game of Hunting Party begins with a different Hero, a variable game board, and a different Prophecy to solve. These changing elements ensure that no two games play exactly alike. Online play is supported through VASSAL, either in real time or by play-by-email.
